Top stores for Retail Arbitrage in the UK

Retail Arbitrage is where you go into a physical store, purchase products with the sole purpose of reselling them on Amazon.

When you first start it can be difficult to know which stores too target.

In this article I will break down the top three types of stores to target in the UK and give you a selection of stores so you can hit the ground running!!!

Supermarkets

Supermarkets are the creme de la creme when you begin your reselling journey. This is because they are FOREVER running promotions and competition with other supermarkets.
You will begin to identify which supermarkets run which offers from half price to buy one get one free.

This offers mean you can get items at a discounted rate which will ultimately help increase your profits.

Another reason supermarkets are the creme de la creme of sourcing for a beginner is because they have a wide range of products in store.

Not only do they stock grocery products, they sell everything from electronics to games, to beauty items.

And yup, you guessed it…. They run offers on those too!!

As your experience builds you will also begin to find items in supermarkets that are not on offer - these are where you can make the real £££ - as most others sellers are focused on the offers you can dig for gold and find the items that are profitable on Amazon but not on offer.
The latter will take a little more work in finding but if you are persistent you will begin to find gems!!

Selection of stores: Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, Morrison’s, Ocado

Healthcare and Beauty Stores

With a little knowledge literally any type of store you can find deals in - and this includes healthcare and beauty stores.

One of the biggest healthcare stores in the UK is Boots and there clearance section is ofter fire!!
The deals we have found from Boots, especially in the early days I what solidified our decision to sell on Amazon.

These type of stores are also massive on running promotions, so similar to supermarkets you will find 3 for 2’s , buy one get one free and daily deals which are available for 24 hours only

Selection of stores: Boots, Superdrug, Wilko, Holland & Barrett,

Discount Stores

In the UK we have a wide range of discount stores, these stores generally are specialised in one niche, so you have discount stores in the grocery niche to the beauty niche.
As this stores carry stock at highlight discounted rates this provides an opportunity to purchase low and sell high.

Selection of stores: Home Bargains, Poundland, TK Maxx

As you can see there are a plethora of stores you can walk into and walk out with a handful (or boot full) of stock ready to resell on Amazon.
